Senior Research Scientist

Oncomatryx is a Spanish biotechnology company specialized in developing personalized therapies against metastatic solid tumors, focused on targeting both the tumor and its microenvironment.

We are looking to bring on a Senior Research Scientist to strengthen our R&D area at our facilities in Derio. The position is part of strategic translational research projects and will report functionally to R&D operations management / new ADCs.

Main Responsibilities

• Design, evaluation, and optimization of bispecific ADCs targeting the TME: coordinating in vitro and in vivo studies for functional characterization.
• Management and oversight of the preclinical development program: coordination with external providers (academic collaborators, CROs, CDMOs), results analysis, and preparation of reports for internal reporting and management committees.
• Participation in drafting scientific publications, patent applications, and preparing presentations for business development activities and interactions with strategic partners and investors.
• Contribution to preparing applications for public grants and competitive funding calls.

Requirements

• Academic background: PhD in Biochemistry, Biomedicine, or Pharmacy
• Minimum experience required: At least 5 years of postdoctoral experience
• Technical knowledge
  • Preclinical development of therapeutic compounds in oncology
  • Generation of therapeutic antibodies and ADCs, and bispecific formats
  • Cancer biology
  • Animal efficacy models in oncology
  • Basic/applied knowledge of artificial intelligence
• Languages: Spanish and English at C1 level (able to work and communicate fluently in English: reading, writing, and speaking)
• Other requirements Regular use of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Nice to have

• Prior experience in bispecific antibody development projects
• Experience interacting with CROs/CDMOs on development projects
• Knowledge of organic chemistry
