Overview
Almirall is seeking a young scientist to work as an intern for the Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering (AIDE) section of the R+D Data Science Dpt. with the mission of contributing with new therapeutic hypotheses in Almirall's discovery programs.
Job Responsibilities
Contribute to discovery projects with a component of Artificial Intelligence possibly involving predictive modelling, biomedical knowledge graphs and generative/agentic AI
Learn and apply different models on graphs and biomedical data/databases to generate therapeutic hypotheses, like drug repurposing or target identification
Participate in the development and testing of innovative in silico platforms
Job Requirements
Completed BSc in computer science, bioinformatics, statistics, mathematics or other quantitative disciplines. Ideally finishing a Master's degree
Programming experience (e.g. python, R)
Basic notions of machine learning, statistics, networks, and biology
Hands-on experience with biomedical knowledge graphs, annotation databases, omics data, or knowledge of the drug discovery process is a plus
Willingness to learn and to contribute to impact a variety of projects
Proficiency in English, spoken and written, is a must
Availability to work on-site (Sant Feliu de Llobregat)
