Job Description:
Application Operations role within IT Operations, supporting Spanish business‑critical applications. Ensures end‑to‑end availability through incident, change and deployment management, infrastructure monitoring, and coordination with local and global IT teams.
Responsibilities
- Provide second-line operational support for production applications, including incident resolution, problem analysis, deployments, and proactive monitoring.
- Support mission‑critical systems in mainframe environments, working closely with middleware and distributed platforms.
- Use standard IT service management and monitoring tools to detect issues early and restore services quickly.
- Keep mainframe applications and batch processes stable, and drive effective solutions during incident escalations.
- Contribute to an Application Operations team supporting more than 140 applications with round‑the‑clock coverage.
Skills
Essential: Ability to operate and support business‑critical banking applications in a production IBM mainframe environment, ensuring high availability and operational stability.
Essential: Hands‑on knowledge of core IBM mainframe tools, including OMEGAMON for monitoring, TSO/ISPF for system interaction, and OPC job scheduling and batch processing tools, COBOL, JCL, CICS and DB2. Demonstrable +5 years using these tools in a similar position in a medium or big corporation.
Essential: Strong troubleshooting skills to analyze incidents, identify root causes, and restore service effectively in time‑critical situations.
Important: Working knowledge of end‑to‑end application operations processes such as incident, change, and deployment support in regulated environments.
Important: Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with infrastructure, middleware, and global support teams in a 24x7 operational model. Proficient in English communication and skilled at collaborating with diverse international teams.
