Power Electronics Engineer

Description

IRP Systems is developing the next generation of high-performance e-powertrain systems that will change the electric vehicles market. We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Power Electronics Engineer to support our engineering activities in Barcelona.

You'll be responsible for the following

• Support the design and development of high-power electronic systems
• Contribute to schematic reviews, PCB design activities, and power electronics validation
• Perform testing, validation, debugging, and characterization of power electronics hardware
• Contribute to prototype bring-up and system integration activities
• Support the migration of existing electronic design data, libraries, and workflows into Altium, while helping improve PCB design practices and standards
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams during development and testing phases
• Document technical findings and support engineering decision-making

Skills and Qualifications:

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Power Electronics, or a related field
• Experience in EV or automotive electronics development
• Strong hands-on background in power electronics design and validation
• Solid understanding of inverter topologies, gate drivers, HV systems, and power semiconductors
• Experience with Altium Designer (PCB layout experience is not mandatory)
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment and hardware debugging methodologies
• Experience with simulation tools such as LTspice or equivalent
• Ability to independently drive technical tasks in fast-paced R&D environments
• Fluent English communication skills
