IMDEA Materials Institute is a public research organization founded in 2007 by Madrid's regional government to carry out research of excellence in Material Science and Engineering by attracting talent from all over the world to work in an international and multidisciplinary environment. IMDEA Materials has grown rapidly since its foundation and currently includes more than 120 researchers from 22 nationalities and has become one of the leading research centers in materials in Europe which has received the María de Maeztu seal of excellence from the Spanish government. The research activities have been focused on the areas of materials for transport, energy, and health care and the Institute has state-of-the-art facilities for processing, characterization and simulation of advanced materials.

Qué harás

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out the following duties:

  • Management, monitoring and reporting of R&D projects awarded to the Institute, including milestone tracking and administrative reporting (coordination and/or drafting of reports and deliverables). The successful candidate will act as the project manager, coordinating with the Principal Investigators to oversee the implementation and monitoring of European and/or national projects.
  • Administrative and financial management of the assigned projects, including the monitoring of costs, financial reporting and grant audits, contracts, fellowships, etc.
  • Administrative and management support for grant proposals, as well as the preparation of Grant Agreements (GAs) and Consortium Agreements (CAs), actively contributing to their drafting in the management section.
  • Contribution to the optimisation of internal processes and/or responsibility for addressing new needs in this area. Development of instructions, procedures and policies aimed at optimising such processes.
  • Coordination with the Accounting and Finance, Travel, Human Resources, Technical and Research Personnel departments, as well as with suppliers, consortium members, clients and auditors.

Qué buscan

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar position within research organisations, universities, consulting firms, etc., managing international research projects, with a particular focus on European projects (Horizon Europe, Horizon 2020, etc.).
  • Experience in providing administrative support for grant proposals at regional, national and international level (mainly EU Framework Programmes).
  • Experience in cost monitoring and in preparing expenditure statements for funding bodies, as well as in managing audit requirements.

Se valorará

Desirable:

  • Experience in drafting grant proposals at regional, national and international level (mainly EU Framework Programmes).
  • Knowledge of the regulations applicable to the scientific field, particularly those affecting the materials science ecosystem.

Formación y certificaciones

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in science or engineering, although other educational backgrounds may also be considered if relevant.
  • Training in project management under EU Framework Programmes.

Idiomas

  • Advanced level of English, both spoken and written (equivalent to C1).
