The position

We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Data to Analytics Specialist to support the global Celonis Process Mining initiative at Boehringer Ingelheim.

This role is a great fit for experienced Data Analysts with strong SQL and Python skills who are interested in developing expertise in Process Mining and working with Celonis on a scale.

You will work closely with the Celonis Lead, business process owners, and data teams to bring transparency, automation, and process excellence across Order to Cash, Source to Pay, and other key processes.

Tasks & responsibilities

As a Senior Data to Analytics Specialist, you are responsible for:

Data & Analytics Engineering (core):

• Design and develop analytical data models and transformations (SQL, ELT/ETL).
• Build dashboards, KPIs and analyses that translate complex data into actionable business insights.
• Ensure data quality, performance, and reliability of analytical solutions.
• Work with Python for data transformations, automations, and integrations where needed.
• Optimize performance of analytical data models, queries, and dashboards at scale.
  
  

Process Mining & Celonis (development over time):

• Develop and maintain process mining data models and analyses in Celonis.
• Build process insights and dashboards for global use cases (e.g. O2C, AP, T&E).
• Gradually develop Celonis-specific artifacts such as PQL logic, apps, and automations.
• Collaborate with process experts to identify root causes, improvement opportunities, and KPIs.
• Participate in end-to-end design of process mining use cases, from business question to scalable Celonis solution.
  
  

Collaboration & business engagement:

• Translate business questions into analytical and technical solutions.
• Work closely with business stakeholders, IT, and data teams.
• Support documentation, knowledge sharing, and enablement of end users.

About our future employee

You should have excellent English skills and at least 5 years of experience in data engineering, analytics development, or process mining.

Additionally, we are looking for:

Required skills & experience:

• Strong proficiency in SQL (complex joins, transformations, performance optimization).
• Practical experience with Python for data analysis, automation, or integrations.
• Solid understanding of relational data models and ETL/ELT concepts.
  
  

Nice to have / can be developed on the job:

• Experience with Process Mining concepts or tools (e.g. Celonis, Signavio, Power Automate Process Mining).
• Experience with analytics platforms (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik).
• Experience with SAP ERP data (ECC or S/4HANA).
• Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g. Snowflake, Azure, AWS, GCP).
  
  

Process & Business Understanding:

• Experience in process mining projects of at least one core business process (O2C, AP, T&E, Logistics, Master Data, etc.).
• Ability to translate business needs into analytical logic and technical solutions.
